Cast Thy Burden Upon the Lord
Sung to BIRMINGHAM, composed in 1846 by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)
Psalm 16:8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
Psalm 25:3 No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Psalm 57:10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
V. 1 Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
And He shall sustain thee;
He never will suffer the righteous to fall;
He is at thy right hand.
Thy mercy, Lord, is great, and far above the heavens;
Let none be made ashamed, that wait upon Thee.
