God Be With You

God Be With You
Text written by Jeremiah E. Rankin (1828-1904)
Sung to the hymn tune RANDOLPH, composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958)

Alternate tune composed in 1880 by William G. Tomer (1833-1896)

John 10:16  I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

V. 1 God be with you till we meet again;
By His counsels guide, uphold you,
With His sheep securely fold you:
God be with you till we meet again.

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.

John 6:31 "Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

V. 2 God be with you till we meet again;
Neath His wings securely hide you,
Daily manna still provide you:
God be with you till we meet again.

Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’

V. 3 God be with you till we meet again;
When life's perils thick confound you,
Put His arms unfailing round you:
God be with you till we meet again.

V. 4 God be with you till we meet again;
Keep love's banner floating o'er you,
Smite death's threatening wave before you:
God be with you till we meet again.
