Peace, Perfect Peace

Peace, Perfect Peace
Text written in 1875 by Edward H. Bickersteth (1825-1906)
Sung to PAX TECUM, composed by George T. Caldbeck (1852-1918), arranged in 1877 by Charles J. Vincent (1852-1934)

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.

V. 1 Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

V. 2 Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus: this is rest.

V. 3 Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away?
In Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they.

V. 4 Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?
Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.
