All People That on Earth Do Dwell

All People That on Earth Do Dwell
Text written by William Kethe ( ? - c. 1593)
Sung to OLD HUNDREDTH, composed in 1551 by Louis Bourgeois (c. 1510-1561)

Psalm 100:1-5 A Thanksgiving Psalm
On your feet now—applaud God! Bring a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into his presence. Know this: God is God, and God, God. He made us; we didn't make him. We're his people, his well-tended sheep.  Enter with the password: "Thank you!" Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him.  For God is sheer beauty, all-generous in love, loyal always and ever.

V. 1 All people that on earth do dwell,
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;
Him serve with mirth, His praise forth tell,
Come ye before Him and rejoice.

V. 2 Know that the Lord is God indeed;
Without our aid He did us make;
We are His folk, He doth us feed,
And for His sheep He doth us take.

V. 3 O enter then His gates with praise,
Approach with joy His courts unto;
Praise, laud, and bless His name always,
For it is seemly so to do.

V. 4 For why the Lord our God is good,
His mercy is forever sure;
His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.
