Bible Verse of the Day

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean. Provided by The Listener's Audio Bible.)

Marvelous Grace

Marvelous Grace
Text written in 1911 by Julia H. Johnston (1849-1919)
Tune composed in 1911 by Daniel B. Towner (1850-1919)

Romans 5:20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.

V. 1 Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured--
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Refrain: Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

V. 2 Sin and despair, like the sea-waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater--yes, grace untold--
Points to the Refuge, the mighty Cross.
Refrain

2 Corinthians 9:14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.

V. 3 Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?
Refrain
