Fairest Lord Jesus

Fairest Lord Jesus
Text from "Gesangbuch, Munster, 1672", translated by Joseph A. Seiss (1823-1904)
Sung to CRUSADER'S HYMN from "Schlesische Volkslieder, 1842", arranged by Richard S. Willis (1819-1900)

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God....

Mark 2:10 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins....”

Philippians 4:1 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

V. 1 Fairest Lord Jesus,
Ruler of all nature,
O Thou of God and man the Son!
Thee will I cherish,
Thee will I honor,
Thou art my glory, joy, and crown.

Psalm 45:16 Your sons will take the place of your fathers;
you will make them princes throughout the land.

V. 2 Fair are the meadows,
Fairer still the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring;
Jesus is fairef,
Jesus is purer,
Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.

V. 3 Fair is the sunshine,
Fairer still the moonlight,
And all the twinkling, starry host;
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels heaven can boast.

V. 4 Beautiful Savior,
Lord of the nations,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor,
Praise, adoration,
Now and forevermore be Thine!
