Only Trust Him
Text and tune written by J. H. Stockton (1813-1877)
Psalm 52:8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.
V. 1 Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
There's mercy with the Lord,
And He will surely give you rest,
By trusting in His word.
Psalm 37:3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Refrain: Only trust Him, only trust Him,
Only trust Him now;
He will save you, He will save,
He will save you now.
Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
V. 2 For Jesus shed His precious blood
Rich blessings to bestow;
Plunge now into the crimson flood
That washes white as snow.
Refrain
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
V. 3 Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
That leads you into rest;
Believe in Him without delay,
And you are fully blest.
Refrain
V. 4 Come, then, and join this holy band,
And on to glory go,
To dwell in that celestial land,
Where joys immortal flow.
Refrain
